What a lovely way to spend the day. |
Today I took a machine quilting class at Wandering Stitches (right here). The teacher was Mark Sherman, an award winning quilter from Florida. His work can be seen here.

Treasure revealed!
I found some good, great stuff at the Extravaganza yesterday. If I had been looking for furniture and had a truck, I could have filled it! Stephanie found loads of silverware to work her magic upon.

Eri had a little lamb
These pictures were taken when I was 12 and 13 years old. My friend Janet and I raised sheep for 4-H and for the pure love of the animals. We took care of Mr. DeYoungs sheep and heifers for the room and board of our pets. We also increased his flock by our loving care of all the wooly beasts.
In the second picture, we can be seen bathing and grooming one of our flock for the Walworth County Fair. Imagine our surprise when we found out you don't prepare the wool breeds by washing out their essential lanolins and other indicators of quality wool.
As a knitting want-to-be, I now wonder if it is possible to felt wool while still on the animal!
I hope you enjoy these beautiful pictures found in cyberspace of these wooly, timid creatures.

Thank you, Jeremy!
My friend, Jeremy, sent me these pictures today.
The first quilt was made in Celebration, Florida. It is a nine-patch variation.
I first met Jeremy while living there. In addition to being one of my favorite people, he is a very good friend of my son, Nick.
The small light bordered quilt and the bottom quilt are triple Irish Chains. Irish Chains are my "go to" quilts. I love making them and often find myself making one simply because I enjoy the process.
I promised several years ago to make Jeremy an art quilt and will post a picture when finished (or when started)!
Thank you for the pictures Jeremy. I hope you are always kept warm by your quilts and the bonds of friendship!!

Read me a story
So far this year, I have been listening to audio books while doing other things. What an enjoyable way to whistle while you work. Another good use for an i-phone!
